Your gift is an investment
in the future of this
congregation and community
and is deeply appreciated

Sustainable stewardship, sometimes referred to as recurring giving, is among the most cost-effective, long-term fundraising methods today. The concept is simple: members commit to a donation amount that is paid regularly — most often monthly, but occasionally quarterly or annually.

Although it is most often handled electronically, any method of giving works. Checks, electronic fund transfers from your bank account, credit card payments, cash, or securities are all good. Online giving is safe, secure, and reliable. UUSM has contracted with a reputable payment processing provider. Just click Donate Now to be directed to payment processing.

What makes this method different is that no pledge drive is needed to renew or increase your pledge! Your pledge will renew automatically until you change it and changing is an easy process that can be done online or with a phone call.

If you would prefer to make a financial commitment using a paper form, you can print the Financial Contribution of Record form and mail or deliver it to the UUSM office. For more information, you can view the UUSM Sustainable Stewardship brochure.

More Ways to Give

Planned Giving

Planned Giving fits into the broader category of Estate Planning. At UUSM this has taken the form of members naming UUSM in their Wills or Living Trusts as well as contributions to our Pooled Income Fund.

The Pooled Income Fund is a professionally-managed fund that provides current income to the donor or their designee during their lifetime, a tax deduction to the donor at the time of the donation, and the principal becomes the property of UUSM when the donor or designee passes away.

Members making Planned Giving decisions that incorporate UUSM can designate the funds be used for a specific purpose or can designate the funds to be unrestricted in which case the Board of Trustees would manage the funds. Please contact the UUSM Treasurer or anyone on the Finance Committee for more information or to include Planned Giving in your estate plan.

Auction

The UUSM auction is an annual tradition for our community. It's both a fun social event and an important fundraiser. Members and friends give two ways at the auction; they donate auction items such as dinner parties or a week's rental at a condo and they donate their money by way of bidding generously on the auction items. Please contact the Administrative Assistant at the UUSM office for more information or to make donations to the Auction. We are always in need of someone to lead this event.

Party Palooza

New for 2018, Celebrate St Patty's Day at Party Palooza. It's NOT the Auction but a simple, fun event to raise money for our community. It IS a Potluck dinner, with no charge to attend, a chance to sign up for 20+ exciting parties and events to be held throughout the year at fixed prices. It IS a silent auction for a few limited items to include such things as condos and timeshares, a sermon from Reverend Ben and those extra special dinners, limited to 10 items. NO Physical Items Please!! This year's contacts are Deeana McLemore (This email address is being protected from spambots. eScrip

E-Scrip is a painless way to raise money for our community by way of our daily shopping, and it all happens behind the scenes.

Members simply register their debit or credit cards with e-Scrip and then proceed to shop at merchants which have signed-up with e-Scrip. Each merchant then donates to UUSM an amount based on a percentage of money spent by our members, sometimes as much as 5 or 10%.

This effort typically raises several thousand dollars a year and requires very little effort beyond the card registration process.

Using e-Scrip is a great way to support UUSM! Our group identification number with eScrip is 138057531.

Sign up for e-Scrip today!

Amazon Smile

Sign up at smile.amazon.com and choose Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo, and Amazon will make a donation to UUSM for every purchase you make with Amazon.com.

Financial Commitment

Support our Mission and Values

Your gift is an investment
in the future of this
congregation and community
and is deeply appreciated

Our fundraising objective is to raise sufficient funds annually to support UUSM’s key programs, pay operating expenses and ensure our long-term financial security.

UUSM offers thoughtful and inspiring Sunday worship with beautiful and diverse music; high quality religious education for children and teens, a welcoming community based on shared values, and programs and events to inform and challenge.

An important part of being a member or friend is making a financial commitment, a recurring financial contribution of record, to support and sustain our ministry and our mission and vision. We have embarked on a Sustaining Pledge system and ask that each pledge unit make an annual commitment which will be ongoing year after year. If changes occur in your personal finances and your are able to increase your commitment or must reduce your commitment, you may do so through the website or by contacting the UUSM office.

To make a financial commitment to UUSM online, click Donate Now or print a Sustaining Financial Contribution form. For more information, you can view our Sustainable Stewardship brochure.
