Community Giving

Several years ago UUSM initiated a tradition of designating one Sunday a month at which 100% of the plate collections would go to a pre-selected community organization.

Examples of past recipients are Samaritan House, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and Homework Central.

The recipients we've chosen for the 2008-09 year are:

  • Homework Central
  • Samaritan House
  • Second Harvest Food Bank
  • Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
  • Peninsula Habitat for Humanity
  • Peninsula Interfaith Action (PIA)
  • Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC)
  • Shelter Network
  • Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry-CA (UULM-CA)
  • Coastside Hope

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

It's Time to Welcome a Guest at Your Table

When we bring home our Guest at Your Table boxes, our families and friends will learn about real struggles for justice in the United States and around the world. With each box comes a copy of Stories of Hope, written to teach children, youth, and adults how the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee helps to change our world for the better.
