HELPING HANDS MAKE OUR SHARED VISION POSSIBLE

This Sunday at UUSM

MAR 6
"Renewing Faith in Ourselves and Our Future”
the Rev. Ben Meyers, preaching

How do we renew our faith when so much is falling apart? In these fragile days, despite the setbacks and slowness, Faith is more about remembering our longing for what we love and who we want to be, even when we aren’t sure what the road to it will be like. That's how we show that we are a people of faith. Today we begin, again, to restore our faith in ourselves and our future selves.

We return to onsite worship in our Fellowship Hall with live music. You can also zoom in! Children's programming in the cottage and outside! See you Sunday!

It takes all of us to create this “We” thing we call beloved community.

"We are a religious community of open hearts and open minds, working together to transform ourselves and the world."

Our mission statement, recited together each week in our Sunday worship, reminds us that faith without deeds is a lifeless enterprise. A community is built one relationship at a time, one gathering at a time. The collective work we do to strengthen the whole serves all parts of the whole. We invite you to find that place where your gifts, and the needs of the community, meet. We're glad you're here.

MINISTRY TEAMS

Just as there are many ways to pray, and many ways to love, there are also many ways to ‘accomplish’ ministry.  We invite you to ply your established gifts in one of the ways presented here….or try something new and unknown that will help you grow in delight and accomplishment.

OPERATIONS ARE THE KEY TO OUR MISSION

In many ways, how we do things (the process) is more important than what we do (the product.)  This is counter to the messages we learn from our dominant culture, but it is at the core of our covenantal religion.

Pay it forward with a commitment to help in our beloved community.

The paradox of any mission-based organization is to balance the prophetic parts of the mission with the functional work of sustaining the organization. At UUSM we rely on the four T’s: sharing our Time, Talent, Treasure and Trust. It takes all of us to create this “We” thing we call beloved community.

This is why, whoever you are, and whatever your gifts, there is a place for you here in creating a sustainable, vibrant community of open hearts and open minds, working together to transform ourselves and the world… What role will you play in making this mission come alive?
