REV. STEFANIE’S LAST PASTORAL MESSAGE
Read the Order of Service
Sunday, Sept. 24: Welcoming Accountability
with Rev. Dr. Tovis Page

“What if accountability wasn’t scary?” asks writer and activist Mia Mingus. “What if our own accountability wasn’t something we ran from, but something we ran towards and desired, appreciated, held as sacred?” In our covenantal faith tradition, holding ourselves and each other accountable for the promises we make to one another is a central, ongoing task. But it’s one we often avoid. As our Jewish kin observe Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), what might we learn about the practice of accountability that could strengthen our community and help us live out our mission of transformation?
